A small gift turns into a passion

SagRob Publishing was formed around 2013 as Scrooge Publishing. I then changed its name to SagRob Publishing in honor of the friend whom I made the first two books for.

Initially, I was intrigued by the fact that one could get an ISBN number for no cost - unheard of in today's commerical world, and thought it would be great to publish manuscripts of my poems for friends and have an ISBN number on the copyright page. The drawback was that one had to lodge one copy of any created works when printed with an ISBN number with Library and Archives Canada - a repository and reference library for all works created in Canada. Not a bad exchange.

From making manuscripts I went to creating a small book for a dear friend. I created another small book for the same friend a few years later. Both of these can be seen on the front page.

A learning curve for the next peoject?

In July of 2017, someone whom I knew talked to me about a project that he had had in his family since the mid-1950s. It was not until October 2018 that I undertook to do the project and began the work that would last until December 2019. I will post some images of these finished books in due course. Needless to say.... they are exquisite!
